earthskyearth - an audiovisual installation

The projections show planet-like objects created in virtual 3D computer space. Their luminous textures are based on collages of aerial night views of urban regions. The animation takes us through a virtual universe, circling or passing these imaginary celestial bodies.

The projection on several layers of semi-transparent cloth, slightly moving in a fan breeze, carries the scene over into real space. The scenario is completed by a multilayered humming sound which is swelling up and down periodically. Its origin is the processed noise of the computer on which the 3D animation was rendered.
