Picture series, 2003/2004

The picture series was developed from a collage-like combination of aerial night views of the Ruhr Area. This process created chief structures which can no longer be clearly assigned to the surface of the earth. They could as well be shots of far-off spaces of the universe.
A closer look seems to disclose modules of urban structures. Identification by means of orientation or form remains vague, however, as the pictures have been treated in an unusual way.
Other parts of the pictures seem to be of a clearly cosmic natur - although all light phenomena have an electric, i.e. human origin.
The "earthsky" series also forms the basis for the luminous textures of the planet-like objects in the "earthskyearth" animation.
