100.000 dots - only 2% of the number of ribosomes in each human cell. The image is an attempt to approach the sheer incredible complexity of the cell by illustrating one of its simpler aspects: the large number of one of the central cell organelles that is responsible for protein synthesis, the translation of the immaterial genetic code into actual biomass.
