transient Video, 5:15 min, Austria, 2009 > view video on vimeo above: video stills The work transient was inspired by the impressive phenomena based on water vapour that can be found in Linz and its Northern surroundings stretching out to the Czech border. No matter if of natural or industrial origin - considering fog and clouds in various formations or the steam of the cooling towers of the Linz steal industry - these volatile entities are made of the same substance. Through the similar aesthetics of rain clouds passing overmountain ridges and fog emerging over forest on the one hand and the smoking and steaming chimneys of the industrial plants on the other hand, transient considers the possibility of a logical or even causal relation between these phenomena. The video was realized during an Artist Residency at the Salzamt, Linz a.d. Donau, Austria. < overview works
