p.log - transferring a residency blog into real space and time

An exhibition project in cooperation with PrøveRommet, Bergen, Norway

Following the idea of a blog – the word being a blend of the term web log – the project p.log consists of a series of presentations displayed in the context of a series of PrøveRommet events within the residency period: PrøveRommet log – merged to become p.log.
Transferring the idea of a blog to real space and time, p.log is an accumulating body of found and newly created text, graphic, photo and moving image material, starting with first impressions when arriving in Bergen and tracking the development of projects and the progress of works during my artist residency at USF Verftet (5 January - 29 March 2012).
The PrøveRommet concept of travelling from venue to venue in combination with the diversity of the audience it is attracting due to its manifold program is an analogue of the non-locality of web logs in the world wide web as well as the diversity of their visitors. The p.log project will be accompanied by a regular blog on the Artists-in-Transit website by IGBK : blog.igbk.de/author/rrangsch

The project was kindly supported by:
BIT Teatergarasjen, Norwegian-German Willy-Brandt Foundation
